Stater Bros. Brand Guidelines + Visual Identity
Fresh. Affordable. Community First.
A supermarket chain based in Southern California, Stater Bros. Markets prioritizes providing the community with fresh and affordable groceries. They sought a new look that aligned with their values.
I led the development of comprehensive brand guidelines, establishing a new color palette, refining typography, redefining key brand assets, and reimagining the in-store experience. A central component of the rebrand was a new visual direction for food and lifestyle photography.
In collaboration with my creative director, I co-led the art direction for a food photoshoot designed to anchor and launch the new brand identity. Developing detailed shot lists, curating every tactile element: materials, textures, ceramics, glassware, table linens, and cutlery to ensure authenticity. I was able to draw from my own food memories and experiences growing up in Southern California, communicating a sense of place and familiarity from my POV. These visuals became the cornerstone of the rebrand, appearing across out-of-home campaigns and throughout the newly redesigned in-store environment.
